Caissons.-Relates to improvements in the invention described in Specification No. 7717, A.D. 1905, in which doors a for caissons &c. are operated by a screw b, Fig. 1, working in conjunction with a halfnutf. The lever l pivoted at m carries a locking- bolt h which is adapted to engage a nut f by means of a spring n. The sliding-nut and locking-bolt are operated simultaneously by means of a chain or rope p which passes over a sprocket-wheel &c. s and pulley r, its ends being connected to the lever land sliding-nut lever i. The hand-lever t is provided with a clutch adapted to be put into gear with the loose sprocket-wheel s. By means of a hand-chain k the lever l may be operated from near the door. In place of the wheel s and clutch, the lever v, Fig. 5, pivoted at wand provided with a sliding piece actuated by levers y, may be used for gripping the rope &c. A cylinder d and pistonrod e are provided to control the fall of the door.
