Telemeters.-Relates to instruments of the type in which two parallel telescopes rigidly attached to the same base are employed, a point on the distant object being sighted first through one, and then through the other, rotating the base by means of a micrometer. A common ocular is used for the two telescopes, which have the objective e' and sighting-mark e2 also in common, but the pentagonal prisms e3, e4 reflect into the top and bottom halves of the objective respectively. A shutter g cuts off either half of the field, or a reversible or removable prism can be used for the same purpose.
