Actuating-mechanism; delivery mechanism.-After prepayment the operator depresses a handlever I, which is coupled by a link S to a disk T, thereby rotating a wheel 11, solid with the roller E, through a quarter of a revolution by means of a catch U which engages a slot W, Fig 3, in the wheel. An article is thus delivered from the chain on to the outer surfaces of semicylinders F, F1, which are simultaneously rotated to receive it and to allow the article delivered at the previous operation to pass to the shelf H by means of links 7, 8 pivoted to the disk T. The catch U slips out of the notch W just prior to the completion of the motion, which is effected by a spring-controlled rod 17 bearing on the upper roller E, a detent X connected by a slotted link 5 to the hand-lever entering the notch to prevent reversal of the band during the return of the hand-lever under the action of the spring 10. Coin action.-The coin inserted in a pocket on a lever L pivoted at l raises a rod M and removes a catch from a rack on a rod J which moves with the hand-lever. One side q of the coin pocket is movable being connected by a slotted rod 13, Fig. 3, to a weight 12, which, when secured in the dotted position, adapts the pocket to take coins of a larger size. Coin-discharging mechanism.-During the operation a camp on a rod P connected to the handlever slides the part q laterally by engaging a pin Q, permitting the coin to escape. Registers.-At each operation a pawl 16 carried by the rod J rotates a ratchet to show through a window 15 the number of articles still in the machine.
