Materials, special, cords of; covering and binding. - A cord-like material for use in making hair-frames consists of a number of parallel strips of flexible non-metallic material, suitably bound together so as to break joint, and provided with an outer covering capable of being sewn. In the preferred form, the strips selected are those obtained by cutting or splitting quills. The lengths are bound together by cotton threads covered with windings of floss silk. The final covering may be of silk ribbon or of woven, plaited, or braided material, and may enclose an inner covering of aluminium foil to protect the strips from moisture.
