5986. Maiden, G. March 12. Nest eggs.-Imitation partridge and pheasant eggs are made by turning wood of a proper density to the required shape and size. The eggs are dipped into a suitable enamel paint, and, when dry, the surface is rubbed with soap and fine sand. To give the egg a natural colour, it is finally rubbed with a damp cloth on which some such soap as " Monkey brand " has been rubbed.
