[Addition to 1070/09.] Commutator switching-arrangements.-Apparatus of the kind described in the parent Specification, for converting alternating potential differences into high continuous potential differences is improved by the substitution of metallic arms l, l1 keyed to an insulating-sleeve c for the insulated plates arranged parallel to the axis of rotation in the above-mentioned Specification. The brushes b, b2 are placed opposite each other in the plane of one arm l, and the brushes b', b3 opposite each other in the plane of the arm l1, the two systems being displaced angularly 90 degrees, and axially a distance according to the voltage at which the apparatus is designed to work. The rotating arms are driven at a speed corresponding to half the periodicity. The brushes b, b1 are connected to the condenser conductors and the brushes b2, b3 are connected to the insulated pole p of the alternating-current source. The modified apparatus is designed to prevent the irregular voltages received by the conducting plates l, l1 in the original apparatus.
