Signals and points, interlocking; miniature signals. -A mechanical escapement adapted for use as an electric circuit-closer, to be operated by a railway switch - point or point lock, signal, train stop, crossing-gate, or the like, comprises a positivelyoperated member and a second member free to fall when permitted, so opening or closing a circuit, and having, in addition, freedom to move with the positively-operated member when in the escaped position and in that movement to open or close a second electric circuit. For example a bar e, or a bar e1, falls into a notch c2 in a bar c connected to the railway switch points b, b1, when the points are in a certain position ; a circuit is thereby closed across contacts j1. If the points are forced back, before the bar e is lifted to free them, the bar e moves horizontally about its universal pivot h, carrying with it a bridge-piece k which breaks a second circuit between contacts k1, k2.
