Burners, applications of; vaporizing- apparatus. - In a vapour - heated laundry iron, a dish 31 is removably supported in the front part of the iron, and contains a mixing tube 37 connected with a burner tube 371. The vapour is supplied to the open end of the mixing-tube from the reservoir 15 through a removable tube 17 and nipple 22, and air has access to the interior of the dish through apertures in the roof of the iron. The tube 17 is provided with legs 20 which stride the burner-tube, and the fittings are retained in place by the roofplate 4, which is detachably secured by a hook 5 and a cam-disk adapted to engage the head of a projecting screw at the rear of the body. The nipple 22 is filled with asbestos packed between two gauze sheets 25, and its aperture 21 can be cleaned by a piece of wire 47 normally secured to the handle 44.
