Rollers.-An underclearer for the rollers of drawing, slubbing, intermediate, roving, and similar preparing-machines comprises an endless travelling or revolving clearer-band C mounted upon rollers A, A', which are carried in slots in side plates B, so as to be automatically adjustable, and are provided with loose bushes b, Fig. 3, which carry pivoted stripping-bars E and are attached to weighted supporting-bands h which pass over the necks of the drawing-rollers. Each of the side plates is provided with a slot b', so that the roller A may adjust itself to the drawing- rollers; or an auxiliary plate B', Fig. 4, carries the roller A, and is adjustably secured to the side plate. The bushes b loosely embrace the trunnions of the rollers and protect them from dust &c. One roller A, Fig. 9, covered with a band of cotton, linen, wool, leather, &c., or a pair of such rollers, which may be separate from or connected with each other, may be used, in which case the supporting- band h passes through projections b5 on the side plates, which also carry the pivot pins of the stripping-bars E.
