Endless-chain elevators with shelf carriers.- Earthen and other ware is dried after glazing by being carried on reversible carriers connected to endless chains through vertically partitioned heated towers. In the form shown in Fig. 3, a rectangular frame is bolted to hangers o suspended from the chain and carries racks with teeth r to enable flat goods to be carried on one side of the frame. By suspending the frame from the other ends of the hangers, the other side, provided with studs for jugs &c., is used as a support. In another form, V-shaped reversible hangers may be used; the shelves may otherwise be pivoted to double hangers and provided with catches to hold them horizontal.
