[Cognate Application, 18,073/10.] Plug couplings.-The plug j, Fig. 1, of an electric lamp or other fitting is held in position by means of an arm t and the core m, of a solenoid when the coil k of the solenoid is energized by current supplied to the lamp or fitting. The current of the lamp is closed by means of a double-pole switch held in its closed position by means of a solenoid g. In the arrangement shown in Fig. 2, the coil k is placed across the terminals of the sockets, so that, when the double - pole switch is closed, the plug can neither be inserted nor withdrawn from the socket.
