Skipping - appliances; exercising-apparatus; gripping-appliances.-In place of ordinary cord or rope, the skipping-appliance is formed of a length of coiled-spring wire a, the ends of which are secured by nipples e in openings c, Fig. 3, formed in plates or clips d attached to bent wire spring-grip handles b. To form a chest-expander, the coiled wire is coiled around the handles and gripped between the spring folds thereof, as shown in Fig. 5. To prevent undue extension of the spring, an inextensible cord may be used as a core.
