Raillway-carriage doors, fastening automatically.-In a railway-carriage-door fastening which is operated by an incline secured to the station platform, a spring-shot bolt is withdrawn by the tightening of a chain D, secured at its end to a bracket E on the lower footboard, by a plunger G when this strikes an incline I on the platform. The chain D is guided over pulleys K, L, M, N, and the plunger G carries a pulley F to reduce friction. A spring H tends to prevent the plunger G from tightening the cord D.
