摘要
24,315. Cogger, B. E. Oct. 20. Blind persons, communicating with.-Relates to clips for holding paper on boards used by the blind for braille writing. The clip, which renders unnecessary the use of pins for piercing the paper, and is reversible, consists of two metal plates B, C, between which the top edge of the paper is placed. The bottom plate B has pins B', B2 on each side adapted to fit into holes in the board A. The top plate C is pivoted to the bottom plate by pins which turn in holes in the studs B1. A lever or handle D enables the paper to be clamped between the two plates, and rests in a recess A2 in the board when the clip is reversed. Segments G on the bottom plate act as guides for placing the paper in position. When the clip is reversed, the top studs B1 enter the holes in the board. According to the Provisional Specification, the clip is held in place by metallic clips and adjusting-springs on the board. The bottom plate has two fixed knobs for raising and lowering, and has a screw and nut for clamping the plates together.
