26,537. Gosch, O. Nov. 15, 1909, [Convention date]. Sale apparatus.-Post cards, lettercards, envelopes, and similar articles are held singly between slotted plates 4, which are carried by a pair of inclined rods 3 rigidly secured to arms 2 attached to a central post 1. There may be several sets of these plates each similarly supported and provided with a separate coin mechanism. Delivery mechanism.-The foremost plate of any series is supported by the engagement of a projection 6 on one of the rods 3, and of a projection 7 on a frame 12 carried by the post 1. When a coin is inserted, a spindle 11 is rotated, and a cam 18 on a member 14 carried by the spindle engages the extremity of the foremost plate and moves it laterally, so as to free the hook 16 from the projection 7 and to bring the enlarged portion 9 of the slots into engagement with the rods 3 and free the plate. The plate thereupon slips down the rods to a stop 8, and the post card or other article is guided by a plate 28 to the delivery aperture. Empty machines, locking.-The hook 16 of the last plate 4 is bent, as shown in Fig. 5, and serves to prevent the return of the cam 18 after the release of the last plate but one. Coin action, weight. - The inserted coin 19 falls into a slot 20 of a counterweighted lever 21, which is mounted on the spindle 11, depressing the lever and rotating the spindle and finally escaping into a shoot 24, permitting the counterweight 23 to return the lever and spindle.
