Spring wheels with continuous outer rigid ring and pneumatic and like cushions. -An outer metal rim 1, with a concave inner surface 2 and an outer circumferential groove, containing rubber or like blocks 5 spaced by metal pieces, is secured on a penumatic tyre by inflating the air-tube. The rubber or like blocks 5 are secured by transverse or radial bolts 6 or are cemented in position. In a modification, the sides of the groove are undercut and the blocks 5 project further than shown in Fig. 3, from the rim, . so that on compression their bases expand into the undercut portions of the groove. The groove may be provided in a ring which is riveted to the rim 1. The edges of the rim are preferably beaded.
