3374. Westmancott, A. J. Feb. 10. Battery lamps for policemen, postmen, watchmen, and the like. The metal case is provided with a sloping lid for throwing off rain, and is slotted horizontally just above the lamp for the passage of a pivoted switch-arm. In the arrangement shown, the case has a hinged lid B, handles I, and a belt-hook J, and the lamp is fixed in a parabolic reflector G inside a tube screwed into the case and fitted with a sliding lens-tube C. The switch H is carried by an ebonite bar S supported between metal tongues on the case. Each terminal of the accumulator is provided with a metal strip N, one strip being in contact with the case and the other with a brass strip fixed to the bar S and adapted to be engaged by the switch. The lamp abuts on a strip M in contact with the switch-pivot.
