Manufacture and Production of New Azodyestuffs and Process of Developing them on the Fibre.

Disazo and tetrakisazo dyes are obtained by combining one or two molecular proportions of diazoazo compounds, containing no amino or hydroxy groups, with 2:21-dinaphthylamine- 5:51-dioxy-7:71-disulphonic acid; two molecules of the same or of different diazoazo compounds may be used. Aminoazo compounds are specified containing as first component p-nitraniline-osulphonic acid, aniline, o-anisidine, m-aminobenzoic acid, chloraniline sulphonic acids, chlortoluidine sulphonic acids, xylidine sulphonic acids, naphthylamine sulphonic acids, and as second component 1-naphthylamine-6- or -7- sulphonic acid, p-xylidine, cresidine, or alphanaphthylamine. The products can be applied. to cotton by dyeing or printing and developed on the fibre with diazotized nitranilines, red, . violet, and blue shades being thus produced.
