Preserving animal substances.-A device for preserving natural - history specimens so that they can be viewed from both sides comprises two pieces of glass &c. a, d, either or both of which are provided with depressions or grooves b to receive the bulky portions c of the specimen, and which are secured together so that the flat portions c1, e.g. the wings, of the specimen are held between the flat portions of the plates. Two or more grooves may be formed in the plates to take several specimens.
