22,834. Welch, F. W. Oct. 7. Cultivators; manure distributors.-Relates to a tool comprising a handle, scraper, hoe, or cultivator, and a distributor for fertilizers or artificial manures. In its simplest form, Fig. 1, a piece of metal is coiled round to form the handle a having open or closed ends and provided at one end with a hoe b for removing moss &c. from the top of the soil in a flower-pot, and at the other end with a spoon c for taking- up and distributing manure on the soil in the pot. In a modification, the spoon is dispensed with and the handle is hollow and contains the manure, one end of the handle being closed by a plug and the other being open or having a hole out of which the manure falls. The spoon and scraper or hoe may be mounted on or formed in one piece with, one end of the handle, which may be used as a reservoir for the manure. Teeth may be provided at one side of the hoe or on the spoon; in the latter case the hoe may be dispensed with. In a further modification, teeth on the spoon are bent underneath after the manner of a rake. Teeth in the form of a fork m, Fig. 10, may be mounted on the handle, which may have a spoon or scraper band is hollow. to contain the manure, one end of the handle being provided with a plug j and the other with a small opening e for the escape of the manure.
