Mountings.-Relates to elevating-gears and also training-gears which are simultaneously operable by two operators through a three-member epicyclic train, and consists in the combination with such gears of an indicator comprising two indicating- members, one of which is driven by one of the operating-handles and the other by the second operating-handle. The indicator enables the auxiliary operator to work in consonance with the operator who is sighting. The indicator, shown in Fig. 1 as applied to an elevating-gear, consists of a disk G and a ring E provided respectively with semicircular indicating-marks J1, J. The ring E is geared to the shaft C4 of the auxiliary elevatiug - handle C5, and the disk G is geared to the shaft of the main elevating- handle, which shaft is co-axial with the shaft B2 of the elevating-gear worm B3. The shaft B2 carries one member of the epicyclic train ; the two other members of the train are connected to the shafts of the two operating-handles. The indicating-marks J, J1 travel in the same direction when the two operators are working in agreement.
