Interlocking and guarding against wrong movements.-To prevent a power turning-gear such as described in Specification 28,903/11 from being connected to the engine while the latter is in gear with the road wheels, a rod 6, pivoted on the pedal 1 used for connecting the turning-gear to the engine, enters a slot 8 in a plate 7 attached to the change-speed lever 3, when the latter is in the neutral position and the pedal is depressed. With the lever 3 in any other position, the pedal cannot be moved.
