Improvements in Covers or Wrappers for Spare or Reserve Tyres of Motor Cars and other Vehicles.

Covers for pneumatic tyres and spare wheels. -A cover for reserve tyres or wheels of motorcars &c. consists of two circular pieces 1 of waterproof fabric or the like the outer parts of which overlap on the tread of the tyre, as shown, and are held in place by a coil spring 7 or length of elastic enclosed in a piping formed at the edges. One of the covers 1 is formed with a central opening in which a blocked leather cap to cover the end of the hub is secured. Instead of the spring 7, a draw string threaded through the piping may be used to hold the covers in place. The lower half of each cover may be reinforced with leather in cases where the spare wheel rests on the footboard of the car. Also, the spokes of the wheel may be only partly covered, or the tyre and rim only may be covered.
