Track apparatus actuating signals other than on trains. - Alarms or illuminating - devices arranged under the edge of the platform are operated while a train is in a station by current in a circuit which is closed by the flanges of the wheels engaging an elastic conductor rail. The conductor rail 4 is connected to one or more motors 20 driving one or more phonographs and through lamps 19, current being derived either from the power rail 7 or from a battery 28. Switches are provided for cutting - out either source of energy or the signalling-devices.
