Shuttles, changing bobbins and the like in, automatically.-The bobbin butts and tips are inserted in spiral guideways in the end plates 18, 19, Figs. 2 and 5, of a magazine pivoted on a stud 17. The bobbins are forced from the centre of the magazine into shoots 14a, 31 on a fixed stand 14 by means of a pusher 20 extending through a groove 184 in the end plate 18. The pusher has a guide-block 201 slidable on parallel arms 21 extending from a spring controlled case 22. The magazine is normally retained in position by the engagement of a spring-controlled hooked latch 37 with an extension 18b of the magazine, and the bobbins are normally retained in the shoots 14a, 31 by spring-controlled members, which yield, however, when the transferrer is operated. The weft ends 5a extend through a slot in the end plate 19 and pass over a guide-frame 35 to a thread-holder 36. To fill the magazine, the latch 37 is disengaged from it, and the magazine is turned round until bar 38 thereon rests against a stop 14b. A spring-controlled pawl 25 is then moved into engagement with a ratchet-wheel 24 fixed to the case 22, .so as to prevent forward movement of the pusher 20, a new supply of bobbins being inserted in the open end of the magazine, and the pusher being moved inwardly towards the centre of the magazine. The pusher bar may be caused to act by gravity action &c.
