Pressure filters.-Apparatus for sifting potters' slip comprises a frame a carrying one or more sifting-boxes b, each comprising a rectangular or polygonal framework in the sides of which are detachably mounted lawn-frames c. A vertical shaft k passes down the middle of the framework a and carries a set of vanes j adapted to rotate in each sifting-box and to force the material through the sides of the sifting-tox into a receiving box h, whence it may pass into the next lower sifting-box or to a collecting trough. The coarser materials which pass below the vanes are led off by a pipe or pipes s. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 16,590/92, 14,629/06, and 18,963/08, [all in Class 117, Sifting &c.].
