Infantry shields. - A travelling olservatory and shield for military use comprises a wheeled vehicle made in two portions which are normally connected by a pivot pin but can be detached to form separate observation stations. The front portion A is provided 'with folding shields A1, AIX, the upper shield having two tiers of ports and shutters. Steps are fitted for the observer, the observations being made through the ports or over the top. The rear portion carries a platform B' mounted on a support B2 which telescopes in a tube B3 hinged at b to the vehicle. The platform can be raised by a winch or other mechanism, and can be rotated or traversed by worm or other gearing. A ported shield b', guard rail ba, foot-plate b3, and fixed and hinged climbing spikes b4 b5, may be provided, and ranae-fluders may be mounted on the platform. The platform B1 may be fitted to the front portion and the shield A1 to the back portion, and both portions may be independent of each other.
