July 20 Repairing leaks. -A device for the temporary repairing of leakages in tanks, pipes, barrels, &c., or for attaching tool chests &c. to bicycle frames, comprises a screwed stem G carrying a washer D and tightening-nut F and having pivoted eccentrically at one end a bridge-piece A of approximately semi-tubular form. In repairing a leakage &c., the bridgepiece A is passed horizontally through the hole and falls vertically by its own weight; the washer D is then tightened up on the outside. In order to withdraw the device when a permanent repair is to be made, the stem G is first pushed slightly inwards and then rotated through 180 degrees, whereupon the bridgepiece falls horizontal and can be withdrawn through the hole. In attaching a tool chest to a bicycle frame, a hole is first bored into the frame.
