Moulding hollow-ware; cutting-apparatus.-The handles of cups, jars, &c. formed by casting are put into a two-part press-die, Figs. 4, 5, and 6, which is externally shaped on the side where the ends of the handles protrude, so as to fit the article. The ends can then be cut off to make an exact fit, by means of a corresponding tool, Fig. 7. The press comprises two grinding-stems and a spring-suspended sliding plate carrying the upper half-mould. The handle is released from the lower half-mould by pushing up a stud through a hole.
