Coating.-After the removal of tin from waste tinned iron by electrolysis, the residual scrap may be treated with alkali to remove acid, and then with a weak solution of copper sulphate or the like, to produce a protective coating of copper or other metal. It may then be rendered compact by compression, and is suitable for steel manufacture.
