102,297. Moore, G. E. March 6, 1916. Sieves with compound motion.-Consists of apparatus for grading or sorting tea after it has been rolled and dried. Two or more horizontal flat sieves 7 arranged in one or more sets, either directly one above the other, in steps one above the other, or singly side by side, are mounted in a frame 6 to which circular motion in the horizontal plane is imparted by cranks 4. The material passing through these sieves is conveyed by shoots 10 fitted within the frame to one or more sets of fiat sieves 12, 13 suspended from the frame; these sieves are placed one above the other and are adjustable in inclination. The material retained by the upper sieves can be discharged by removing the sieves by hand, or doors and shoots may be provided at the sides of the sieves, as shown at 9.
