Interlocking.-An electrically-controlled lock, described as for locking the catch-handle of a handlever connected through a tappet connected to the arm 15, comprises a rocking segment 8 with a flange 9, 11, in which is a notch 10 for engagement by a locking-piece 7 carried by a member 6 fast to the armature 4 of an electro-magnet 3. An inclined surface 12 on the projection 11 ensures return of the locking-member when the segment is reset to normal. Circuits passing through contacts 24, 26 are controlled by an adjustable collar 22 on a rod 20 movable in guides by a crank 18 on the spindle 16. The crank-arm 15 to which the tappet is attached may be fixed at any required position on the spindle, and is the only part of the apparatus which is external to a lockup casing. A modification is described for locking the catch-handle in its raised position for " back-locking " a lever.
