Appliances for aiding invalids to walk.-An appliance for aiding paralytic patients to regain the faculty of walking comprises a pair of crutchheads h, Figs. 2 and 3, provided with castors m adapted to run on angle-iron tracks a, Fig. 1, adjustably mounted in standards b, secured to a base c. Each crutch-head comprises an upper saddle-strap attached to supports i, formed of bent hands connected at their lower ends by a stringer, and is adapted to adjust itself to the chest width of the patient by pivoting about a bar k having slotted pieces l to receive the removable axles n of the castors m, opposite castors of the two crutch-heads having common axles. The tracks a are stiffened by means of angle-iron bars f secured to the tracks and adjustable on the standards b. Two boards o adjustably mounted on chains are provided to guide the knees of the patient, and adjustable hand-rails g are provided.
