116,550. British Plaster Board, (Ralph, G. C.). June 16, 1917. Circular-saw machines.-In making plaster boards comprising upper and lower paper strips A, Ax, between which is interposed a layer of plaster, the plaster from mixers H is supplied to a tray or container E from which it is spread on to the lower paper strip Ax by means of a hoe-like implement. The paper and plaster pass together through rolls C, Cx on to a travelling band D which delivers the material intermittently to a cutter or saw F which is operated while the material is stationary to cut off convenient lengths. The intermittent feed of the material towards the cutter F is effected by driving the band D from a continuously rotating shaft M, Fig. 4, through a gear wheel M1 having an untoothed peripheral part Mx. The cutter F, which is independently rotated, is mounted on an arm F', Fig. 9, connected to a pin or roller F6 working in a cam groove F5 and slidably connected to an arm F7 driven from the shaft M. The cutter may be moved across the material by hand.
