Potato diggers and harvesters.-A potato digger-and-harvester comprises a wheeled frame M to the axle J of which is attached a frame H carrying at its rear end supports for an arbor G round which a drum formed by wheels A having wire panel sides B may rotate. The two sides of the drum are connected by stays D on which are pivoted digging-forks E provided at their inner extremities with rolls engaging a fixed cam F mounted on the arbor G. The drum is driven through a clutch from the axle of the main wheels in the reverse direction to that of these wheels. In operation, the forks E controlled by the cam F dig into the ridge and lift the potatoes which run down the forks until stopped by wire network fixed thereon. As the forks move round the potatoes fall on to the backs of the preceding forks and thence to the ground or into a receptacle drawn behind the machine. Means are provided for raising or lowering the end of the frame H so as to adjust the depth the forks enter the ground.
