Oct 16, 1918 Intensifiers; press ram retracting-devices; press working valves.-In presses &c. operated by steam hydraulic intensifiers and of the type in which the press head is raised by steam, its rising being controlled by a valve in the exhaust from the hydraulic cylinder, the inlet and exhaust valves A, B, Fig. 1, of the lifting-cylinders are connected by slotted links E', E2 to a lever D2 weighted at E and operated from the usual controlling-lever C of the intensifier by connexions including a tappet lever C2 and tappets C3, C'. Weights D3 are provided on the spindles of the valves A, B, the inlet valve A being normally open and the exhaust valve B closed. The valve H, Fig. 2, controlling the exhaust from the hydraulic cylinder is operated by means including a pedal J, lever K', and spring-controlled tappet K2.
