Chairs with fixed jaws; chair plates; tie-bars; sleepers integral with chairs; sleepers, chairs, and parts, arrangements of.-Chair plates have two staggered jaws, each jaw having two railgripping faces A, C, so that the chair plate may be secured relatively to the rail in one of two positions at right-angles to each other. Chairs are similarly formed. The chair or chair plate may be formed integral with a pot-sleeper. Inclined rail seats B are provided. The jaws may be so spaced and shaped as to grip in each position a different rail section. To prevent creep, adjacent chairs &c. may face opposite directions, Fig. 5, or adjacent groups of chairs may be oppositely arranged. The split cotter securing the tie-bar may have its ends bent around upper and lower lugs on the sleeper.
