Commutator switching - arrangements. - In the arrangement described in the parent Specification, for converting alternating current into low-tension continuous current for charging an accumulator h, Fig. 1, the brushes f, g are arranged to be completely insulated at the moment of commutation, and self-induction coils L1, L2 are placed as shown in the rectified current circuit and in the secondary circuit of the transformer. By using a transformer with magnetic leakage, the coil L' can be dispensed with. In the arrangement for converting continuous current into continuous current of different tension, means are provided for interrupting the high-tension circuit at several points simultaneously in order to prevent arcing. For this purpose, each segment of the rectifier d is connected to the secondary winding of the transformer through a series of rings, each comprising two segments separated by gaps and connected together as shown in Fig. 2.
