Securing flaps in a given relative position.-A toggle mechanism for clamping the telescopic and pivoted sections of camera-tripod and like legs in adjusted position is provided with a catch to retain the toggles in the clamping position. The end members 5, 6 are pivoted to sleeves 7 secured to the lower sections 9 and sliding on the upper sections 10 of a telescopic leg. The catch 18 for holding the toggles in clamping position is pivoted to a sleeve 16 carried by an intermediate member 13 having a pin-and-slot connexion with the end member 5 and hinged to the end member 6. The clamping is effected by the pressure of the end members 5, 6 on metal blades 11 with leather friction strips 12 attached to them.
