Powder distributors.- An aperture in the bottom of a container for salt &c. is closed by a spring-pressed valve k, which is formed with serrations arranged to receive a certain quantity of salt and to discharge it when the valve is depressed by means of a knob h. The lower part m of the valve is enlarged so as to distribute the salt widely, and the upper part n of the valve is arranged to close the aperture when the valve is fully depressed. The valve-rod f and the spring q for closing the valve are enclosed in a tube d, the lower end of which is formed with holes to allow passage of the salt &c. to the serrations in the valve.
