163,428. Turner, C. Feb. 11, 1920. Saddle clips. - For securing the saddle of a motor-cycle &c. to the saddle-pillar, the saddle wires 9 are arranged to be secured to a tapered pin 5 which in turn is adapted to be fixed by a wedge action in the tapered bore 4 of a sleeve 3 upon a split clip 1 engaging with the pillar. The pin has screw-threaded ends, square portions 7 engaging with the wires, a large tapered portion 6, and a reduced portion 6', the portions 7 being fitted with grooved washers 8. By the tightening of nuts 11, 12, the saddle is secured to the clip and the clip tightened about the pillar. According to the Provisional Specification, a split clip engaging with the pillar is cast with a taperbored sleeve to receive an enlarged tapering part at the middle of the pin, each squared portion of the pin being fitted with a pair of grooved plates between which the saddle wires are clamped.
