Punctures, apparatus for closing.-A method of repairing cut or burst tyre covers consists in filling the cut with rubber composition or the like and placing a patch over the inside of the cut and vulcanizing the whole. A textile lining is then placed over the whole inner surface of the tyre. The cut is pared at its sides to the shape shown at 12, and the canvas foundation layers are cut away in stepped formation to accommodate layers 13 of rubber. The rubber composition 11 is then placed in the cut. The patch comprises fabric layers 14 between which is located a number of transverse flattened helical strips or ribbons 16 of wire or the like embedded in rubber. The textile covering 17 is secured over the whole inner surface of the tyre.
