Carding-engines.-To provide for the cleaning of the swift &c., the fancy roller is furnished with a number of bars c, d - - - having strong taper teeth, disposed at equal intervals around the roller. The teeth are so spaced that the interval between two adjacent teeth on one bar is covered by the teeth on the other bars, the space g between two successive teeth being equal to the space between two teeth on the swift &c. The bars are screwed in position between the ordinary clothing of the fancy either between or over the meeting edges of the foundation. The teeth are arranged at varying standard distances from the ends of the bars, so that by aligning the ends the correct setting of the teeth is obtained.
