Moulding wall piers in situ. - Concrete piers or pillars d are cast in situ at intervals in a double slab wall by means of a detachable framework consisting of two wooden or metal uprights f, f1 which close the gaps in the front and back faces of the wall and are secured together by metal loops l on crosspieces j bolted to the upright f. Wires i secure the uprights together at the base, and the spaces c in the wall are closed by wedges u with pullout wires v. The upright f may pivot on the bolt k and is.adjusted by a screw q working in a nut r and carrying a plate t which bears against the upright f1. Levers or cams may replace the screw q. A plumb-bob o and handles ware provided.
