Cylinders, pipes for. -To prevent back-firing, one or more gratings 4 having parallel bars 6 rounded in cross-section, and arranged alternately with, and spaced apart from, two or more gauzes 8, are arranged in the induction pipe. When two or more gratings are employed, they are arranged with the bars 6 of one grating at an angle with respect to the bars of the other gratings. Spacing-rings may be fitted between the gauzes and the grating. The gratings may be mounted in a member 1 adapted to be inserted between the flanges of a pipe joint.
