Manure, sand, seed, and like distributors.-A centrifugal apparatus with rotary stirrers for mixing, grinding, and distributing manures, sand, gravel, and other materials, and for mixing and distributing seeds, consists of a hopper 11 attachable to a wheeled vehicle and containing a rotary spindle 16 carrying a mixing-disc 19 and a centrifugal distributing-plate 23. The spindle 16 is rotated in bearings 17, 18 by bevel-gearing 30, 31 and a shaft 32 driven by a belt which also passes round a belt pulley on one of the vehicle wheels. The materials in the vehicle are placed separately in a feed hopper 37 which is divided into three compartments by divisions 39, 40; each compartment has a rotary stirrer 44 on a shaft 43, and the outlet from each compartment is controlled by an adjustable sliding door 42 on the curved base of it. The materials fall upon the disc 19, and are thrown by it upon the sides of the hopper 12; the mixture passes between the flared outlet 14 of the hopper and the conical part 22 of the distributor. These parts may be serrated to facilitate the crushing of the larger lumps passing out. An annular plate 24 broadcasts the materials centrifugally. The part 22 may be adjusted by the nuts 20, 21, or by adjusting on the spindle 16 a screwed sleeve 30a forming part of the bevelwheel 30.
