Steering-gear.-Relates to steering-gears in which a hydraulic motor drives through worm gear a pinion which gears with a toothed quadrant resiliently connected to a tiller and consists in loosely mounting the boss of the quadrant on the rudder head. The quadrant 5 is loosely mounted on and the tiller 7 is keyed to the rudder head 6, the quadrant and tiller being connected together by springs 8. The quadrant is driven by a pinion 4, worm wheel 3 and worm 2 from the hydraulic motor 1. Specification 165,241 is referred to.
