Tamping-machines; shaking and jigging machines.-Concrete is consolidated by vibrating it by means of a machine comprising a base having an interrupted surface and a manuallyoperated movable member coacting therewith. As shown, the base a consists of a compound rectangular board, having a handle f and clamps g, the interrupted surface being formed by projecting pins b. The movable member comprises a number of rollers c attached by arms k to a boss revolvable round a central support e, and rotated by a finger m on the manually operated wheel d. A spring n may be provided between the spindle i of the wheel d and an abutment nut o on the boss j.
