Carding - engines. -A device for stripping the cylinders or doffers of carding- engines comprises a narrow brush a, which is traversed across the cylinder and is enclosed within a casing j, through which projects, close to the brush, a suction nozzle k of the same width as the brush. The suction takes away the dust and the fibres from the brush. The brush a is mounted on a hollow shaft b surrounding a shaft d having an endless spiral keyway e. A projection g on the brush passes through a slot i in the shaft b and engages the keyway. The shafts d and b are connected by differential gears to obtain a slow traverse.
