203,524. Petter, P. W., and Petters, Ltd. Sept. 12, 1922. Cylinders receiving liquid fuel.-In engines of the hotbulb type, a cartridge exposed to the fuel is burnt within the hot bulb at starting. The cartridge f is placed in position in the screw-threaded ignition tube e, and lighted, and then the ignition tube e is screwed into position, when the engine may be started immediately. The cartridge may consist of blotting paper cr the like impregnated with a nitrate solution, or of a mixture of tinder, nitrate and sulphur.
